Disabled Adaptations

Disabled adaptations to your home can cover a variety of things including:-

• ramps
• showers
• additional handrails

If you feel that your home is no longer meeting your needs and you require extra assistance, you may wish to contact Social Work Services within Glasgow City Council and arrange for an Occupational Therapist to come to your home and carry out an assessment of what equipment or adaptation you may require.  However, if you attend a doctor, hospital etc, they can make a direct referral for you to the Occupational Therapists for assessment.

If the Occupational Therapist feels that adaptations are required which are to be done by the Association, he/she will send a referral to the Association requesting the work to be carried out.  The Association will confirm receipt of the referral but may be unable to give you a time scale for when the work will be done.
